Dear fellow Ambassadors! This is recipe for vegetarian burgers which I made for Valentine’s dinner. They are simple and delicious! The recipe for rolls and burgers comes from great polish cookbook „Jadłonomia” by Marta Dymek. She is vegan, so the original recipe is vegan too. I hope you will enjoy them!


Burger rolls

2 cups wholemeal wheat flour

1 cup white wheat flour

1 1/2 spoon of fresh yeast

1 spoon ground flaxseed + 3 spoons warm water

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup milk

3 spoons oil

1 spoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon salt

sesame seeds


  1. Combine yeast with sugar and some water. Leave it to activate. In another cup combine flaxseed with 3 spoons of warm water. Leave for a few minutes.
  2. Bring all the ingredients into a big bowl, add yeast and flaxseed, knead a dough with your hands or with special kitchen device for a few minutes. Let it grow for about an hour.
  3. Hit the dough with your fist, divide it into 8 parts. Form a round roll from every part. Put rolls on a baking paper and leave for 30 minutes.
  4. Smear the rolls with milk and sprinkle them with sesame seeds.
  5. Bake the rolls in 180 C for 15 minutes.


Vegetarian burgers

1 cup grated carrot

1 cup grated beet roots

1 onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves

2 cups cooked millet

1/2 cup roasted sunflower seeds

1/4 cup wholemeal wheat flour

1/4 cup oil

1 egg (optional, you can make it vegan without it)

2 spoons soja sauce

2 spoons finely chopped parsley

1 teaspoon ground coriander

1 teaspoon ginger

1/2 teaspoon chilli

salt, pepper


  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Knead it a few minutes with your hand.
  2. Spread some oil on your hands and form flat burgers. Put them in oven (200 C) on a backing paper for 10 – 15 minutes.



2 cups of 100% tomato puree (without any ingredients)

1 shallot, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1/4 teasponn cinnamon

1 teaspoon vinegar

1 teaspoon mustard

salt, pepper


  1. Fry onion with a spoon of oil. Put tomato puree, lower the heat and cook a few minutes.
  2. Add sugar, cinnamon, vinegar and mustard. Stir it, cook a few minutes and try – season if needed.


Cut the rolls into half. Put some ketchup, salad leaf and a burger inside. Enjoy!
